The Northern Mediterranean is a mostly civilised area with a wide variety of factions and troops. Impetuous, well armoured and armed, these troops are a cavalry force to be reckoned with. Using a very long and heavy two-handed lance these men can crush many lesser units beneath the hooves of their steeds. Pointed helmets and long scale-mail coats give these men a fearsome appearance only exceeded by their shock ability. These men are available for hire by Dacia in Custom Battles. Mercenary equivalent of Scythian Horse archers. As they have no armour or shields these men are not recommended to engage in combat with any but routing troops, as they are far too vulnerable to even lightly armed support troops. Swift mounted archers capable of forming the Cantabrian circle, these men are able to keep a steady rain of arrows on a unit over time, acquiring constant casualties and a steady accumulation of pressue. They are available for hire by Carthage in Custom Battles. These men are perfectly fine holding a battle line as light infantry troops, or acting as an extra missile unit with their javelins, as an extra support unit. With their large shields, large helmets, javelins and gladii, the Spanish mercenaries have a lot in resemblance with early legionary troops, and so they should, as much of the inspiration for the Roman legionaries came from barbarian troops such as Spain's Scutarii. These men are available for hire by Britannia in Custom Battles. Mercenary equivalent of Barbarian Cavalry. These tireless men are perfect for outflanking enemy infantry, chasing down routing enemies or engaging light or missile troops with a powerful charge. Swift horses and sharp spearpoints make a potent combination. #TOTAL WAR ROME REMASTERED UNIT REPLENISHMENT CRACK#Want an expendable unit to push a battering ram to save your crack troops from enemy fire? Our so-far-relatively-in-depth system of seasonal weather as well as terrain and climate zones are used every turn to modify eighteen things from agricultural income to unit replenishment and upkeep. The authors have optimizez this mod to be played at four turns per year. A barbarian army moves slower because it has to forage and pillage for supplies, but that pillaging means that your upkeep is lower while in enemy lands. Army stances are now unique for each culture. Tweaks have been made to trade and to the AI in many areas already. There are large changes on the campaign map as well. Morale has been tweaked to force you to use smart tactics. Your men will have to deal with increased terrain and weather effects while on the battle field. Experience gain is hard to come by but has a much larger effect on fourteen different unit stats compared to a small effect on five stats in vanilla. The same type of bronze armour has different details depending on whether it is made in Italy or Greece.īattles in Magnar Mod are also very different from vanilla. Even the colors of fabrics are muted so much you would think that the ancients did not use synthetic dyes for their clothes. New textures were made for every unit that reflect the actual equipment they used, with a look that is based whenever possible on academic historical sources. All factions are playable and got personal attention. The creators overhauled the rosters of a number of factions and cultures, including Rome, Carthage, the Gauls and the Iberians. The driving principle behind this project is historical accuracy and realism above all else. Magnar Mod is a modification for Total War: Rome II created by a team called TWMagnar. ![]()
